About the Journal
The journal "Etica pubblica. Studi su legalità e partecipazione" starts from a main premise: legality cannot be reduced to a matter of repression. It is above all the result of shared ideas of the common good and general interest, precisely a shared public ethics, which can prevent deviant actions and behaviors that threaten and harm civil society. A public ethics based on the general interest presupposes at the same time an active involvement of citizens for the defense and development of these assumptions. It is an ethics that makes citizens feel a decisive and active part of the community itself.
The journal intends to become a place for debate and for the promotion of these ideas.
To this end, it will host various contributions, from philosophical to historical, from juridical to sociological, from economic to political science, which can contribute to developing and disseminating a more widespread culture of the general interest by investigating, with a scientific approach, the origins, assumptions, operating methods in the various areas of the social structure.
The journal therefore promotes an interdisciplinary approach to the question of legality by placing it in a complex environment of interactions involving different knowledge. Particular attention will also be devoted to a comparative approach that can help highlight the peculiarities of the Italian case.
